Unfortunately, right before the festivities began, someone misplaced all the crumpets. Not just misplaced them\u2014teleported them into a wormhole inhabited by sugar-crazed rogue drones who promptly started a glitter war inside an abandoned Titan hull.

In utter chaos, the well-dressed Snuffed Out diplomats tried to serve empty plates and invisible pastries with stiff upper lips\u2014though lip-stiffening in zero-G is an awkward affair indeed. Their guests, unimpressed by the non-existent finger foods and thoroughly baffled by the endless \u201cOh, do pardon me, old chap\u201d excuses, decided it would be best to quietly slip out the airlock. Thus ended the illustrious Snuffed Out soir\xe9e, leaving nothing behind but echoing apologies, a suspiciously cucumber-scented nebula, and a gravity-challenged teapot drifting through space for centuries to come.'
